I am that space
Between the shadow and the window
In the darkest part of the night

I am that flower
Lying, half-wilted below you
Stranded in a sea of crab grass

I am that fish
Lying on the bottom of the boat
Drowning from the lack of water

I am you heart
Beating slowly and evenly
If not too entirely broken

And I am your skin
Clinging to your frame
The way a child clings to a mother
