Once filled with life,
It stood tall and broad,
With its arms reaching to the Heavens,
And its hair growing in luscious greens.

Once filled with life,
Its feet standing their ground,
Its skin rough with age,
And its voice mixing in with the wind.

Once filled with life,
Its limbs groaned with age,
Sweat tricked down its face,
As dark clouds circled overhead.

Once filled with life,
It suddenly felt a scorch of heat,
It started at its feet,
And it grew to its hair.

Once filled with life,
It turned black,
With no more beautiful hair on its head,
It was all gathered on the ground,
In a heap of gray ashes.

Once filled with life,
Its arms came tumbling down,
No longer reaching to the Heavens,
But rather pointing at the ground.

Once filled with life,
It gasped through the night,
With smoke filling its lungs,
Until it couldn't go on anymore.

Once filled with life,
It still stands tall,
No longer awake,
Casting a shadow upon the miry ground,
All in a flash of a light,
And a clap of God's hands.
