Open My Heart

I want him to open my heart
Walk right in
But be gentle with the bottom of it
Because there
Promises, lies and a past linger
Sleep in it and
Awake the depths of my soul
Shake away the memories of being hurt
Erase the insecurities that mask my beauty
Keep his heart inside mine
And trust me with it
I want him to open my heart
And cover the painful scars carved by those before him
Put out the fire that burns with hatred
And replace it with the coolness of forgiveness
I want him to open my heart.
And open his too.
