Blue Skies for Blue Eyes

The sun came out today.
It was brilliant,
actually.
Its rays burned through
my pores
capturing the thirst
for more than mere water.
It was you, too,
I needed.
They needed.
We need.
If your life was
the sun of our sky
your death is
the light of our lives.
Your absence begins
at my heart
a plague through my body.
Time has passed.
Barely.
Come back home.
Bring back the light.
