The Bird

She leaps into the air
Soaring like a bird
Her feathers blowing behind her
But flops back down, her skates spewing flecks of ice
The swan has fallen
She decides to fling herself back into the air
Like a baby bird learning how to fly
She lands again gracefully
The bird is determined to float for a longer time
So she leaps up again trying to reach a greater height
Her coach is proud of her.
