Music
Coursing through my veins
Starting my heart
Inspiring new emotions
My own kind of art
Each verse a new feeling
Each song a different meaning
The genre, irrelevant
Music is my element
Headphones in and reality out
The world around me is void
My soul becomes one with the tune
Making me immune
To the worries and problems of the day
Music understands me
And all of my stress melts away
Lyrics are empowering
My ears devouring, all the words the artist can say
Only in a song do I find true freedom
To be carefree, relax, and let go
When I feel that rhythm
Relief rushes over me
I allow the melody to carry me away
I’m not held down by gravity
None of that matters
All I’ve got to do is push play.
