Last Dance
Girls wearing dresses that match their beauty
And guys admiring from afar.
Friends. Dancing. Fun. Happiness.
Tonight was to be an amazing night,
But things never go as plan.
Have you ever felt bound by chains?
Like you were defined without your consent.
Tonight was to be the night I break free.
These were my thought that last dance,
Who would have known that nothing would change.
To be outgoing,
To be social,
To be unforgettable,
That is the person I want to be.
Three friends, true friends,
Tried to bring out that person in me.
One kept pushing me,
But I would not budge.
Another dragged me to the heart of the party,
But I ran away.
Something held me back,
But I had no idea what;
The glass seemed half empty.
Every second, every moment,
I could not help but remember
The one person who should have been here;
To be there for me, to be with me
But I remained alone.
So many burdens caused me much pain,
I did not want anyone to feel my suffering.
So I had to cover up every last ounce of emotion I had,
Because there's no other choice I was willing to do.
That night I looked up at the stars,
Each one was a sign of hope.
But each star seemed to be engulf
By the dark sky.
I will never forget that
Last Dance.
