I am from the trampoline,
from basketball in the street lowering the rim and dunking like I was in the NBA.
I am from Blink 182’s song “All The Small Things”
(Thanks to my brother, for introducing me to that band).
I am from back porch barbecues.

I am from a family full of laughs,
from discussions at the dinner table or in the car on a road trip.
I am from family board games like Scrabble and Trivial Pursuit.
I am from family holidays like Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur,
that always ended up embedded in my memory.

Originally from one house,
Then moved to another one.
I am from dinners at Ruby Tuesdays every Friday night.
I am from Long Island, where I have lived all my life.

I am from a family with an extremely long story
Where I am one, very important chapter.
