My Dearest Helen Keller
My dearest Helen Keller,
How lucky are you to be bathed in silence since your birth. This world that you cannot hear bears the screams of those who envy you.
How lucky are you to be cleansed of the sinful sight of eyes. These eyes of mine only see the tears that fill them, and the blackness of each day I live.
How lucky were you to be so innocent and ignorant, the harshness of this world will make you learn and learn again and again no matter if you are willing to listen.
How lucky were you too be shunned by others, sometimes I desire to fade into the darkness that consumed you.
Helen, how lucky are you, your silence has set you free, but my shrilling screams and hallow moans only trap me further into the symphony of sorrows that this world is bound to sing.
How lucky are you to never witness a sunset crush whatever hope you held in your heart, or experience the heaving wails of the most beautiful violin.
How lucky are you Helen, how lucky are you.
