Four Seasons to Find Myself

November 18, 2011
I remember once, when spring arrived:
Back then I was the doe.
I trampled leaves and brushed the trees,
Looking for a place to go.
I remember, in summer's heat:
Back then I was the waves.
I crashed and thrashed and smashed all day,
And in the night I never went away.
I remember, a life of fall:
I was a green leaf sitting on a tree.
But I turned red and then I fled
To the ground where I was meant to be.
And now, in this time of snowy winter:
Under frost and ice, hidden below,
I claim my life as a spring flower
Trying to bloom in snow.
