Going Deep

Into the water

I can no longer breathe
cold surrounds me

and I begin to shiver inside

I look around for
someone to help me back
to the surface

and I realize that I am alone

I wish that anyone

could be there to save me


from the pain that

has come over my body like waves

A cold hand reaches

and pulls me close to


the surface where
I can finally see the light there
