But I was used to finding something deadly in things that attracted me; there was always something deadly lurking in anything I wanted, anything I loved. And if it wasn't there ... I put it there myself. ~ John Knowles

I set myself up to fall
I do and I fall
I set myself up to bleed
I do and I bleed
I set myself up to cry
I do and I cry
I set myself up to love
I do but... I don't love
Life is full of constants
But in the same respect, it's full of change and unexpected surprises
It's left up to fate whether or not we deserve those constants or changes
And whether the changes or lack thereof are a good thing...
Now all I'm trying to figure out is ... Is my change a good thing?

The author's comments:
She leaned on him. She leaned on him to take away the pain when it hurt the most; when she was in the darkest of places. She leaned on him to make her better and he became a crutch; a drug almost. They soon fell in love, but because of the distance they quickly fell apart. The more she leaned, the more he pulled away. One day she decided to take away that crutch... but she still questions whether it was all just a big mistake...
I wrote this about a friend. I hope you can understand her story.
