The young boy smiles
as a man sprints towards him,

A man he knows
but hasn’t seen for months.

As they embrace,
the man begins to cry.

The reunion
of a son and father.

Despite all the monstrosities
seen in a strange, foreign land,

The soldier
is finally home.
