- What Matters
I liked it when we held hands at school
When you walked me to my classes
When each time you saw me you gave me a lovely hug.
I liked it when we took long walks together
When we watched the sun set together
When your wallet had my picture in it.
I liked it when you called me first thing in the morning and last thing at night
When you told me how pretty I was
When you protected me from bugs and mosquitoes.
I miss how we used to be.
I miss your voice and your touch.
I miss how you comforted me when I’m scared.
I miss how you told me I was your motivation.
I know I was wrong when I said I didn’t need you
I know I was wrong when I said I never loved you
I know I was wrong when I refused your hugs, and pulled my hand back when you reached for it.
I know I was wrong when I stopped talking to you
I know I did the wrong thing when I cheated on you.
I take all the blame for our departure. Here I am on my knees asking for forgiveness.
Hoping for the one I hurt badly to say the phrase that is almost never heard.
Here I am crying over my own foolishness.
I was too blind to see how lovely you were.
If only I could go back in time and change every single thing I did wrong.
Then I and you will live a happy loving life.
Sorry isn’t enough for all what I did to you but that is all what I can say. “I am Sorry”.
