I say goodbye,
just for now that is.
For I shall see you again,
in the grace of heaven.

Although you have departed,
I promise to carry on.
Always as a lady,
just as you wished.

While your watching,
know I may make mistakes,
but I'll never forget,
the precious lesson you have taught.

With your ring on my finger,
and memory in my heart,
I will carry on your legacy,
to the best of my ability.

Now, you were one tremendous woman,
making it difficult to compete.
But if I can be half of what you were,
that shall be enough.

You parting saddens me,
but our love has become everlasting.
I say goodbye,
just for now that is.

My grandmother passed away and she loved poetry; I wanted to write a poem to remember her by.
