distracted, self-centered, and heavily guarded
one day I’m electric, the next I’m discarded
inventive means liar
sweet means undesired
it’s all so repulsive
am I too impulsive?
maybe it’s just them and they way they creep in
like wolves stealing into a new lion’s den
they take and they take, until there’s nothing left
then make their escape, get away with their theft
that’s why I stay distracted, self-centered, and guarded
because one day they love you and the next you’re disregarded
and I’m done with that haunt

and that’s all that matters
