Grey Rainbow
Born a rainbow,
Died a skeleton.
She was full of stunning color,
In the end, she was only monochrome grey.
If she does not,
She will be punished.
If she does, monsters will feast
On the rainbow’s boundless guilt.
Paralyzed by
A black unknown force,
The rainbow imagines blades.
Blades cutting her skin and leaving red ribbons.
You never cared.
You never noticed.
You turn a blind eye towards her.
“Oh no, she’s just fine,” you murmur, truth concealed.
Self worth’s a joke
To the grey rainbow.
It’s just measured by the scale.
The fateful numbers drop lower and lower.
Captive again.
This time, the rainbow
Imagines pills. Pills of life
And death. Pills that bring life are to bring death now.
Food doesn’t pass
The rainbow’s pink lips.
I stare into the mirror,
And wonder when I became the grey rainbow.
The skeleton
Rainbow finds peace through
Death. The pills of life; the blades and
Ribbons on her skin, the truth not a secret.
Born a rainbow,
Died a skeleton.
She was full of stunning color,
In the end, she was only monochrome grey.
