Sadness clings to me
the way my clothes do

after I have surfaced from icy waters
in the middle of winter

and come out shaking,
soaking wet

thick denim and cotton suffocate my body
no matter how much I pull at them,

I am entangled, so I wait
for the water to create puddles

beneath my feet
and I smile.

Oh my god. I had to read that twice it was that good. The line 'And I smile' just makes it. It's sad, it's complex...it's beautiful. You have so much talent. WOAH! This poem can mean so many things, depending how you look at it. Oh my god this is just perefection. Wow! I want to see more of your work!!
