I looked at the blade today
and I didn't feel the need
It's been so many years
Since I have felt this freedom
I put the blade down and walked away
I hope I don't ever go back
Another addiction broken
Another dependence unspoken
Another truth turned to past
Scars have faded
Short sleeves are freedom
Only a small trace will forever remain
I cannot stop it, or control it, but I can shoulder this pain
I am strong enough
I am brave enough
On the outside I was born tough
Scars prove that much
Now it's time the inside catches up

The author's comments:
I know the poem is sorta depressing, but it describes a really hard part in my life.I hope someone who may have gone through this reads this and gains some type of strength from it.

I love this! I really really really love this! I never cut, but I thought about it and perhaps, tried it once, but I did find strength to get through my situation. Once again, I LOVE this! Great job and keep writing!
