Ocean View
she sits next to her lover, staring
her view is warm
day breaking over foaming waves
an unpredictable tide
courses through her veins
sun scattering early morning shadows
covering everything
the sun doesn't lie, it's unforgiving
that's why she craves it
her other half craves something entirely different
he craves the chilled air of the sea at night
the burn of the salt against his unprotected skin
and the deep blues of drowning from the inside out
while he craves these things,
they can't save him
the only thing that can is the rush
the emotions
the simplicities of every day life
he lives for this view of the ocean
the one that's found only in her eyes
