To my dear first love
I love you to this day
You’re everything I wish I was
Strong, Courageous, and Brave

Our love was immature
Childish and innocent
I wanted nothing more
Then to be in your arms

Your lips on mine, the electricity flew
In that moment I knew
That our love is true

Your beautiful eyes,
Green with flecks of gold
Always held my gaze
With a look of passion in love hidden within them
As you held me in your arms our hearts joined as one
It was us against the world

2 years have passed by
And things have drastically changed
You have her,
And I have him
We both have another
But I cant help but wonder

Were did we go wrong?
How did we lose our way
If I could go back to those days, I would
I would do things differently
Take back the hateful things I said
Our story would have a better ending

You’re beautiful eyes still hold my gaze
But I’m not close to you
I’m across the room
You’re arms still hold me
But only in my memories
Its still us against the world

Time goes on and we move on too
Growing older, wiser
Learning from our mistakes
Even if we do move on
And fall in love with someone new
A piece of my heart,
Will always belong to you

The author's comments:
This is written about my first love, as the title says. We dated when we were 14 and 15 and it didn't work out. To this day we remain friends but the chemistry between us is undeniable
