Waves of Pain

The pain is like waves thrashing against me like waves against the seashore in a midnight storm.
It throws itself against me again and again starting at my core like it is a wave of vengeance trying to weaken me.
The pain spreads from my core up. A wave of nausea punches me right in the gut. It sucks the breathe right from my lungs, my face is stung with a look of pain.
It then resides for a moment. My body relaxes and I feel at peace until the next wave of pain comes again.
