They treat me like a slave
I'm worthless
But really I'm priceless

I want to be freed from my chains
I'm captivated
But I want to be liberated

I wait by the door hoping
To try on a glass slipper
Just my size

But the only thing I'm wearing
Are grimy converse
Two sizes to small

I wait for my fairy godmother
To grant my every wish
A horse drawn carriage

But the only wish I get granted
Are those filthy mice
Who can't even talk back
I wait for prince charming
To sweep me off my feet
And live happily ever after

But the only thing
That I sweep
Is the dusty floor

Who am I kidding?
There are no happy endings
No matter how hard I try.

This poem is not about me, but I find fairy tales to be beautiful. I really just wanted to make it a little darker and more emotional
