At this time last year,
I’d never had a boyfriend,
Held a boys hand,
Or been on a date.

I’d never kissed a boy,
Or known a gay guy,
Or lesbian girl,
And all the kids my age were virgins.

This time last year,
I didn’t know anyone who’d ever been abused,
And I thought to get better,
All you needed were ibuprofen and a nap

And had you asked me, how do you cut?
I would’ve said,
You grab a pair of scissors,
And go like this.

This time last year,
I’d never lied to myself,
I didn’t know the feeling of love,
And I didn’t know the pain of heartbreak.

I’d never been afraid of the truth,
Or witness someone lose their faith,
And I’d never been so worried about someone you might cry,
But been powerless to do anything.

At this time last year it was June 5th
And I had a million wishes,
But now it’s June 5th,
And I have a million regrets.
