These Days
These are the days, when we laugh ‘till we cry.
These are the days, when we talk nonstop of one boy.
These are the sleepless nights.
These are the irresponsible days.
We love everything.
We are drama filled.
We think everything lasts forever.
We look forward to seeing him every day.
Our parents are cruel.
They are unfair.
We act as if we hate them
While we truly love them.
We are ignorant.
We are oblivious to the world.
We have our own agendas,
We are selfish.
But we face reticule and judgment every day.
We are supposed to be smart.
We are supposed to be “hot”
We are supposed to be “perfect”.
We are supposed to be everything.
But we are only girls.
We make mistakes.
We have no direction.
We can be mean.
This is the toughest time in our lives.
But we must cherish it.
For when it is gone, we will miss it.
Nothing will ever be like it.
We are American teenage girls.
And we are all perfect in our own way.
