I Roam

I know neither
where I will go or why
but isn't that the point?
Isn't my journey,
indeed, all our journeys,
a bottle lost at sea?
aren't the words we speak today
gone in the next breath,
replaced by regret.
happiness giving way to pain
pain, to rapture
and then chagrin?
aren't our emotions
tossed to and fro
with no hope of escape?
A passion driven beast
is what drives me.
It drives us all,
This monster.
Yes, I roam
but, neither knowing where or why,
I roam blindly,
for is there any other way?

What a powerful poem! I loved every second of reading this. I really enjoyed how you kept each line short and simple. Amazing writing. :)
