The storm
“Thump, thump, thump!” Went the raindrops descending on the house,
A nonstop aerial assault.
The cruel, oppressive, melancholy day,
With rain and lightning as its arsenal,
Reigned over me,
Thwarting every ounce of joy
Present inside of me.
Then, the clouds began to become lighter
And spread apart.
The rain ceased, giving way to peace and harmony.
The sun, a warm, friendly beacon of hope,
Peered out from the dark rain clouds,
A kind, new being
Meant to mend the grief and sorrow
That the rainy day has brought
Upon all.
