Though your body may sleep
your mind never does
as it takes
what it can
and gives you a dream.
A distant land
just one island a world
where Greek Gods roam with power
and you’re saving
everyone.
Or finding a heart
with no end to its love
and the flowers
and birds
surround you in peace.
As slow as the moon crawls across the sky
you find yourself waking
your dreams fly away
on the wings of a bird
flying to Heaven.
And the blue of the sky
fills your eyes
until they can see no more
of the fantasy world
you have explored.
