Jack the Jester

Etched out in history
written in the story books
fables and fairy tales

Jack the Jester
He heard his name before
whispered in his ear
at bedtime
chanted in the halls
at school

Jack the Jester
known throughout the town
as a troubled sinners soul
stalking the little ones
as they make their way home
creeping behind the women
as they walk from the salon
kicking the dogs
and throwing stones

Jack the Jester
all he does
for s**** and giggle

Jack the Jester
charming until
his joke turns on you
