The smell of the fresh crisp air at the pumpkin patch
You find the orange pumpkin that is perfectly shaped
Cut the browning vine and set it free
At home, you set the table, get all the supplies out.
Find the plastic needles, the metal knives and big bowls.
As you make the first cut to make the lid, you feel the knife slide in.
You cut all the way around and you get excited about what is inside.
You take of the lid to see bright orange, squishy goo with big white seeds.
As you take the first handful, you think it’s gross but as you go it becomes fun!
You soon get it all cleaned out and see where the goo was, is now an orange-white.
You pick out the pattern you want with the picture of a silly or scary face.
Take the plastic needle and make the little holes where you outline what you cut.
As you reach for the tiny saw, you take a look at the dots and think how great it is going to look when it’s all finished!
You work hard to make clean cuts right along the dots and you come to the last piece,
You cut it out, grab a candle and take it outside to set it on the porch where everyone that walks by can see it
You light the candle and can’t wait to see what the finished product looks like.
It glows and it looks even better than you think!
