Hurtful words spew from your mouth like a fire hose.
You whisper them ever so gently in my ear,
As they burn through my mind like wildfire.
Your hand tightly clenched around my wrist,
Proving your control over me.
I wince at each word like a twisting knife,
plunging deeper and deeper into my heart.
And to think I was afraid of spiders
