It’s an idea of give and take
A bond that if it it’s true you cannot break.
They’re there for you when you need them most
Giving all they have while you take it in.
When they have troubles you’ll switch roles, and the process repeats over and over again.

Sometimes you can take too much until there isn’t anything left.
What you had is gone it’s breathed its last breath.
It’ll maybe come back if you help give it some help,
But most of the time your just out of luck.

If all you do is give that could work out I guess.
You be the rock that never is in a mess.
You don’t crumble, or falter, and you stand strong,
But more often than not…

Something happens you recede you begin to chip away
And that’s when the friend comes in to quasi “save the day”
They’re here for you now like you were back for them then
And you know it’ll all work out because you have your best friend
