They say mind over matter
But if the mind is screaming
Does it matter?
If the brain is torn between two
What is it that you do
The voices are so loud
It is agonizing
They are yelling, crying, pleading
Do this
No don't
Do that
It will hurt you
Corrupt you
Kill you
But that moment
In that brief time frame,
You'll get a release
The pressure won't be so bad
Do this, not that
You will heal
Scars fade
But scars are not just skin deep
You can't always see the pain I carry
Do this, not that
Who do I listen to
Who do I choose
Do this, not that
