"Be optimistic; someday all the people you hate will be dead."

sitting on my roof,
looking at the stars.
wondering how I fit into it all.
I take in a breath,
of cleansing night breeze.
this is my moment at peace.

A renewed landscape,
made of soft, white snow.
Filtering the pollution,
out from our sky.
A brisk, fortifying chill,
strengthens my senses,
to something larger than life.
This is my moment at peace.

A cleansing rain,
washes the pain of life away.
I let my facade down.
and show what lies within.
a weight is lifted,
 off my shoulders as,
my sentiments spill forth.
This is my moment at peace.

Life full of tumult,
plagued by change.
Some for good,
other for bad.
The constants are what keep us sane.
These are the things that give me,
my moment at peace.

I look to my future.
I see myself,
doing what I love to do.
Will I have qualms,
from the decisions I'll make?
Will I ever have
my moment at peace?

'None of that matters'
I say to myself
as long as I have,
what I need to survive.
I sip my tea,
and return to reality.
living in my moment of peace.
