Day by day,
I miss you even more.
When I couldn't stand on my own,
you were there.
When I'd cry,
you'd comfort me.
When i was down,
you'd make me smile.

but now

I sit here wondering what god was thinking
when he took you away from me.
couldn't he see
that it was mommy and me against the world?
I thought she'd be here forever,
but he called her home before her time.

I try to make it through
knowing someday I'll be with you.
I look to the sky and know you're looking over me .
It eases my mind a little at a time,
as i cling to everything I have left of you.

Day after day,
I pray that your pain is gone
that you're happy there with our lord and savior.
I'll see you on the other side of the pearly white gates
one day

but until then

I sit here wondering what god was thinking
when he took you away from me.
couldn't he see
that it was mommy and me against the world?
I thought she'd be here forever,
but he called her home before her time.
