Burgers
and
Fries.
Oh, to live in a world of
Formica tables,
Checkered floors
and, of course, milkshakes.
A place where everything
Resembles
Toasted golden brown buns
Black patties (not gray)
With thin, crispy edges.
The feeling that my
tongue has met a
long lost friend.
Before you eat it,
Make sure you salt it
Only then can you
raise it to your lips
And sink your teeth in.
My dad worked as a carhop,
So I love them due to
Genetic predisposition.
