It was a dark and dreary day,
until your light shined my way.
It was you who made me smile,
when I thought all hope had come to an end.
And I'll never forget the twinkle in your eyes,
when I kissed you for the first time.
And though it's over, the curtain's closed,
I've learned to love and now I know.
I'll never be the same again,
You spoke like a lover and loved me like a friend.
