The sun was shining when I got up today
And all was good
That’s all I really want
A little sunshine in my life
Sometimes the darkness is unbearable
The dreariness is too much too handle
The storm cloud over my head
Seems to follow me wherever I go
And it rains
It rains nearly all the time
Sometimes just a drizzle
But when it really rains, it pours
So this morning when I woke up
To the warmth of the sun
I knew today would be a good day
Because a little pick me up
Like the sunshine can do wonders
When you are used to only rain and clouds
I don’t know what tomorrow will bring
I’m no weatherman, but I predict the usual
Cloudy with a chance of precipitation
But none of that matters
Because today I woke up to sunshine
And for once everything will be okay
