The Storm
March 25, 2011
As the thunder began banging,
I started on the long bike ride home from school.
The rain struck my back like nails.
I pedaled faster.
Speeding down the street,
cars with bright lights glowing,
and wipers moving swiftly across the windshield.
I came to a turn in the road,
and I was headed for a large puddle.
I knew there was nothing I could do to avoid it,
A mass of water covered me.
Lucky for me,
I did not lose control.
I continued on my way home,
weighed down by the water,
as more dark clouds moved in.
