"Life is not a journey to the grave with the
intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming -- WOW-- What a Ride!"

Your opinions hold strong like the bark of a tree
But your bark seemingly fails to protect me
Growing strong for several years
Now surrendering to your greatest fears
The words lash out hitting deep
Putting peace to eternal sleep
Anger, pain, holds on tight
Be prepared for the ongoing fight
Like a forest fire burning dry
I refuse to let you make me cry
Smoke rises you start to choke
You feel that you are forever broke
But when the smoke seems to clear
I am here for you my dear
I sit bold upon a tree
My peace guiding you to me
I grab a bucket, I grab a book
To the pain take one more look
I will not let it come back here
You will not shed another tear
Let water seep and numb the pain
Don’t let the fire drive you insane
I will not ever leave your side
So sit back, and enjoy the ride
