The Ethereal Life
You are bound to be blinded by the sun,
when your nose is turned at the sky.
Your inability to open the blinds forced me to dream,
And so I dreamt about swimming as I trudged along.
I hoped to be accepted by the silent fish, and finally find a smooth-scaled friend.
How inviting these swimmers were, with their unfaltering gazes!
Not at all like the distant apparatuses of my human acquaintances,
whose hard-shells had made the hills of my life grow steeper,
until a day felt like a tired lifetime.
But down here, where there is no weight and no concern,
Everything is finally as it should be.
I am now living the dream,
Down where the mud of the earth is more appealing than the dirt of your mouth.
