Young One
I was a young one
Still am, some of the time
You just wanted fun
I couldn't make you mine
You were just like me
A mixture of life
Craving to be free
Through all the strife
You were a mentor
Someone to learn from
Or a protector
But what's done is done
You'd be gone, I knew that
You didn't care though
You wanted me, that was that
You were a pro
I was a young one
Not caring it was wrong
I just wanted fun
I knew you'd be gone
But it happened anyway
Such a young one
Caught up in Hemmingway
I got some fun
Until that dark May
Young one, I'm telling you now
Grow up, quit pretending
I honestly don't care now
Because this is our ending
