a single glance

only one chance

to get this right

make sure its right

so close

i can feel your heartbeat

fast like mine

i want it to last a long time

just to wait and see

plain as can be

its just so quiet

and the silence wraps around us

takes hold of us

and all i remember is

the look in your eyes

staring back at mine

filled like mine

with all these emotions

the thought of “will it come close to

what we all hope for”

even though that’s so old school

but make it perfect

at least for you

make it something you can look back to.
