I Can See The Side Walk
The sun feels like the oven door has opened
And warmed my face.
The snow is melting into a river by the street.
I can see the sidewalk.
Winter,
Man, your time is up.
You were great
Until you overstayed your welcome
You hit us hard
With your first big storm
We were impressed
But when you did the same trick
over
and over
and over again
We got tired.
You are like the
Little boy that was funny the first time
But tries the same joke again and again
Until everyone has left the room.
Now
There is a new man in town
His name is Spring.
He brings life
And new moves to this place
He says, “Bring it on!”
“I’ve got the sun on my side.”
