The Dive

March 16, 2011

The water rippling silently
Staring me in the face
Looking at my coach with disbelief
That he is making me attempt this dive
I tremble and I cough
But the fear won’t go away
I grow anxious and prance on my feet
Put on a weak smile and jump
Falling through the air
Not knowing where I’m going
The cool water touches my hands
Cringing for the pain just coming
I smack my back with force
The air rushes out
I float to the top
My face full of pain
The dive is complete
