Imagine

Imagine all the people,

It isn’t hard to do.

Gaze ‘round at all the people,

and how they didn’t stop for you.

Imagine all the voices,

coming from all around,

Listen for all the voices,

and think about the sound.

Imagine all the buildings

Taller, blocking out the sky.

Stare up at the buildings,

there isn’t a reason not to try.

Imagine all the faces,

staring at you in disgustI

and look at all the faces,

looking at you like you were dust.

Imagine tattered clothes,

raggedy, and dirty too.

tug at the threadbare clothes,

and think about the truth.

Imagine that you were poor,

struggling to survive.

picture that you were poor,

just barely alive.

Imagine you were in poverty,

this is how some live today,

think about their struggles,

and what they couldn’t display.

The next time you pass a person,

living poorly, struggling to survive,

just take one tiny moment,

to keep that person alive.

The pain of being alone...is not an easy one to bear..why is it...that I can understand your pain?

This poem speaks the truth. When I was younger we didn't have all the luxury of most people. Those type of people really did look at us, filthy and small, in disgust. Or they laughed and called us names. I think it is great that someone understands.
