“Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending.” -Maria Robinson

Given were gifts
Such as joy and despair
To be wind under wings
And through boundaries tear

To inspire and create
To be and ignite
The path is lit up
Though not always with light

The flow of emotions
In the sea of our world
Can push the ships of our dreams
With their bright sails unfurled

To capture these winds
One must open the mind
Make something from nothing
For there is nothing defined

We are ourselves
We create our own place
To be unhindered by others
By ignorance, by race

As we take hold of this moment
And shine forth as we are
We rush forth into promise
And WE decide how far

The author's comments:
My inspiration comes from that something that all young adults feel. We don't want to be defined as 'teenagers', we want to be defined by who we are. And right now, the world needs us to seize the moment and make a better future. This is calling on my fellow generation to do so.
