White Magic

By , Fort Leavenworth, KS
The temperatures drop
It seems the world
Is holding her breath
Waiting.... Waiting....
The sun takes a nap
The sky turns gray
White cold wonderment
Gently kisses you nose
To make it blush rose red
Joyful sledding children
Speed down a hill
Letting white bits of magic
Sprinkle down on them
Our dusty fireplaces blaze with heat
We sit and watch
As the world we know
Gets covered in a sparkling white blanket
