The sound of the seagulls like pestering brothers
A dog barking like a wolf to full moon
The waves crash against the beach as if they were a dog and a cat harmlessly at play
The sand beneath my toes like a heated beanbag chair.
A dog taking off as fast as a 747 jet
Girls talking about their crushes like guys do to football
Families taking pictures like this is their last day together
Kids examine sandcastles as if they were kings in the presence of their gold
Adults trying to surf is like watching a blind person shoot
People body surfing is like watching a seal trying to walk
3 dogs playing a game of chase like 3 kids playing tag on a jungle gym
Kids being attracted to a bonfire like moths to a flame
As the day starts to retire the adults act like children
People gathered in circles and sang like no one was listening
As the night faded I began to drift away like a boat lost at sea
When I finally drifted away it was like it was a new day
A day at the beach is like Christmas morning for me
