Stupid Teenage Years
There’s this feeling that I have,
And I don’t know what to do.
It’s been following me around,
Igniting whenever I see you.
Heartbreak is where this road ends,
But my body keeps on driving.
Nothing’s stopping me,
From falling into you.
We see each other every day.
And casually talk in class.
This may be pathetic,
But I don’t care what they say.
I’m slowly falling for you.
Your witty comments,
Your sense of humor,
Everything you do,
I can’t help but notice.
It would be nice,
If you could return the favor.
So it doesn’t look like
I’m just being a loser.
Great things take time,
But I’m running out of patience.
I want you to notice me,
So we can get this ‘friends’ thing over with.
Even if you don’t know it,
I’ll always be in the shadow,
Waiting for you to bring me into the light.
I wish to not wait forever,
But it’ll be worth it once I’m yours,
It will finally be right.
That is if,
You ever decide to love me.
It hurts, even thinking of that possibility.
But I still have my faith,
It’s keeping me sane.
I’m not going to destroy my hopes,
But maybe its better that I do it now,
Before you beat me to it.
